THE BOOK OF LANDS

Once upon a time, there was a boy named Yajat who lived in a big Indian city called Mumbai with his mother. His mother was a business woman who used to run an academy for creative professionals like writers, authors, advertizers, artists, and designers. Yajat was studying in a school nearby, called Stanley International, in 4th standard. He was a very smart and popular boy who loved studies and always got good marks. His best friend was Noor who was from a humble family and had both parents working. Noor was very fond of Yajat's mother as she loved painting & drawing and wanted to study in the Creators Academy one day.

Desert Road

On The Way Back Home...

Yajat & Noor were going back home from school one evening. Noor was busy exploring the beauty around and touching the soft lilac petals coming her way, hanging through plants shining over the boundary wall of the school building. As she was tiny, she had to sometimes jump over to reach a far fetched branch. It was hardly any distance from the school to home except for one small crossing of the road that led to a dead end.

No vehicles ever entered that lane, at least not at that time. There was an old building, recently sold to a builder around the corner and the builder was soon going to dilapidate the building and use the area to build a shopping complex. The area where Yajat lived was very happening except for the old building so the builder saw an opportunity to create a market there.

Yajat was looking at the road, watching for the vechicles. Although, he knew that no vehicles ever crossed it, he would still look on both sides following the standard rule for road crossing. On the right side where the old building existed, he would often look for he thought the building was beautiful and could never understand why people wanted to destroy it.

It was even discussed in the school when other kids talked about the new mall that was planned. Mumma had discussed it one day and had said that it could be a great opportunity for new businesses to flourish. Perhaps, some coworking spaces could be created for entrepreneurs and small companies. Yajat did not understand much of it but as his mother was in business, he would know that it would mean others can generate some income by doing work from the shopping complex.
